Governor Hobbs joined with reproductive champions and legislators to denounce the Arizona Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Civil War-era total abortion ban and vow to do everything in her power to restore women’s reproductive rights in Arizona.
April 8th, 2024 - Governor Hobbs signs HB2764 into law, bringing much-needed accountability and transparency to Arizona’s long-term care facilities. The legislation will help save lives and keep Arizona’s most vulnerable residents safe from bad actors.
Governor Hobbs delivered her State of the State address to an audience of international guests on March 28th.
On March 29, 2024 Governor Hobbs became the first Governor to proclaim Cesar Chavez Day in the history of the State of Arizona. Cesar Chavez Day is a Federal Holiday commemorating the life and legacy of labor leader and human rights activist Cesar Chavez. Prior to Governor Hobbs’ administration, there were many unsuccessful efforts to recognize the holiday in Arizona.
Governor Hobbs joined One•n•Ten, a nonprofit dedicated to serving LGBT+ youth to show her continued support for the organization and the LGBT+ community.
The economy under Governor Hobbs is thriving. On March 14, 2024, at the Carpenters Hall in Phoenix, she announced that under her leadership, 81,800 new jobs had been created since the beginning of her administration, Arizona is the fourth in the nation for job growth—up from 11th in 2022—and inflation in the Phoenix-area plunged to 2.7% after a high of 13% in 2022.
Governor Hobbs is committed to be a presence in communities across Arizona. On March 13, 2024, she traveled to Tucson to lay out her vision for Arizona’s water future and speak with the US Border Patrol Tucson sector.
There has never been a more exciting time to be an Arizona sports fan. On March 7th, Governor Hobbs joined with NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, and Phoenix Suns Owner, Mat Ishbia, to announce Phoenix as the host city for the 2027 NBA All Star Event – which will act as a huge economic driver for the state.
