Arizona Right to Contraception Act Press Conference

Governor Hobbs knows access to contraception is a right — not a privilege.  On March 7th, Governor Hobbs joined with Senator Priya Sundareshan, Representative Stephanie Stahl Hamilton, and CEO of Affirm Sexual and Reproductive Health, Bré Thomas, to urge the State Legislature to pass the Right to Contraception Act. 

As a member of the Alliance for Reproductive Freedom, this is just the latest measure taken by Governor Hobbs to protect the right to reproductive healthcare. Earlier in the year, she signed a letter to urge the Supreme Court to reject the challenge to the use of Mifepristone.

RIP Medical Debt

Governor Hobbs announced that she signed a contract with the nonprofit organization RIP Medical Debt to cancel up to $2 billion of medical debt for an estimated one million Arizonans. This partnership will result in the most extensive medical debt cancellation by any American governor ever.

Arizona Commission of African American Affairs Annual Prayer Breakfast

On February 8, 2024 spoke to the annual Arizona Commission of African American Affairs Annual Prayer Breakfast to give an update on critical issues facing the State, upcoming legislation, how citizens can get involved, and the importance of the Commission on African American Affairs.

Sierra Vista State of the State Address

Governor Hobbs traveled to Sierra Vista on February 13th to give her State of the State address and provide information related to the upcoming year and how Cochise county will be impacted.

Governor Hobbs Signs Domestic Violence Awareness Month Proclamation

On October 3rd, 2023, Governor Hobbs signed a proclamation declaring October Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This proclamation continues her decades of work raising awareness of the plight of domestic violence survivors and commending them on their resiliency.
