Governor Katie Hobbs to Lead Arizona Business Delegation on Trade Mission to Mexico City

Phoenix, AZ - On Wednesday, February 28th, Governor Katie Hobbs will lead a delegation of government officials, and business leaders for a three day trade mission to Mexico City. State of Arizona officials joining the delegation include Arizona Commerce Authority President and CEO Sandra Watson and Arizona Office of Tourism CEO Lisa Urias. The trip has been organized by Greater Phoenix Leadership. Since taking office, Governor Hobbs has made strengthening the Arizona-Mexico partnership a top priority, and is laser focused on fully leveraging the mutually beneficial relationship to create jobs, support small businesses, and move Arizona forward.
“Mexico is Arizona’s top trading partner and a growing market for advanced technology and other key industries for Arizona manufacturing and supply chains. The Arizona-Mexico relationship is critical to the future of our state, and we must continue to be proactive in seeking new opportunities and strengthening existing ones,” said Governor Katie Hobbs. “I’m excited to lead this group of business leaders and elected officials, and look forward to meeting with our Mexican partners to discuss all the ways Arizona and Mexico can forge a path of mutual economic prosperity and create an economy where everyone can thrive.”
While in Mexico City, Governor Hobbs will meet with U.S. Ambassador Kenneth Salazar; Mexico’s Secretary of Economy Raquel Buenrostro; Luis Tellez, President of the Club Industriales; Emilio Cadena, CEO of Grupo Prodensa; the American Chamber in Mexico (AMCHAM); the American Society of Mexico; and Paco Cervantes, President of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) and members of CCE.
Governor Hobbs will also lead a Trade, E-Commerce, and Logistics Infrastructure roundtable with Mexico’s leadership of Walmart and Fedex; and a panel on Strengthening Supply Chains through Nearshoring with business leaders.
