(PHOENIX) Governor Doug Ducey today appointed Rudy Casillas to serve as acting director of the Arizona Department of Racing.
“A law enforcement veteran of more than 40 years, Rudy brings extensive and valuable knowledge to the Department of Racing,” said Governor Ducey. “He has been a key asset to Arizona’s gaming industry for the past two decades, and I’m confident will continue to serve with distinction as he works to regulate racing and wagering and protect Arizonans.”
Mr. Casillas has been with the Department of Gaming since 1995, serving in various positions from special agent to his current role as deputy director. In this capacity, Mr. Casillas is responsible for overseeing various branches of the department, including Investigations & Inspections, Intelligence, Vendor Certification, Employee Certification, Games & Systems, Compliance Audit, Information Technology and Records. Mr. Casillas previously was with the Phoenix Police Department, where he began his law enforcement career in 1974.
