Arizona Experiencing Strongest Manufacturing Job Growth In 30 Years
PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey today declared the month of October to be Arizona Manufacturers Month to highlight manufacturing development throughout the state and its impact on job and economic growth.
“Arizona Manufacturers Month celebrates the critical role manufacturing plays in Arizona’s job growth and economic prosperity,” said Governor Ducey. “Right now, there are more people working in manufacturing in Arizona than in the construction industry — showing Arizona’s increasing manufacturing presence. With key producers like Raytheon, Nikola, Honeywell, Intel, Benchmark Electronics and more, Arizona is proud to recognize the many hardworking men and women of Arizona’s growing manufacturing sector and their vital contributions to our state.”
Arizona is experiencing its strongest manufacturing job growth in 30 years. Data shows Arizona exported $19.5 billion worth of goods in 2018 and the state’s manufacturing employment increased 9 percent from 2014 to 2018— compared to the national average of 4 percent.
