PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey today released the following statement on the celebration of Hanukkah, which begins tonight at sundown:
“This evening, families in Arizona and across the world will come together to celebrate Hanukkah, a time to recognize the miracle of those who overcame great obstacles to stand up for their faith and defend their freedom.
“The traditional lighting of the menorah during the eight-day, Jewish ‘Festival of Lights’ reminds us that even in the darkest times, hope, faith and God’s grace can light the way.
“We hope those observing Hanukkah will be surrounded by those they love as they reflect on the past, with optimism for the future.
“I wish all Arizonans a prosperous, safe and blessed holiday this Hanukkah.”
