PRIMER: Delivering On #20x2020

Thanks to the work of educators, parents and education champions across the state, Arizona teachers are seeing raises.

School districts continue to deliver on the #20x2020 plan to provide Arizona teachers with 20 percent raises by school year 2020.

Signed by Governor Ducey on May 3rd, the #20x2020 plan gives school districts the flexibility to allocate new dollars in a way that meets the specific needs of each district.

Across Arizona, school districts have been working to get dollars into teachers’ paychecks. See what raises school districts have planned for the upcoming school year as part of the #20x2020 plan, so far:

  • Agua Fria Union High School District: Agua Fria Union High School District plans to give certified staff 15% raises in addition to 5% raises for classified and administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Balsz School District: Balsz School District plans to give teachers 10% raises along with 3% raises for classified staff and 2% raises for administrators. (LINK)
  • Buckeye Elementary School District: Buckeye Elementary School District has proposed 13.78% raises for teachers plus 9% raises for classified staff and 4.5% raises for administrators. (LINK)
  • Buckeye Union High School District: Buckeye Union High School District plans to give teachers a 10.1% raise and classified and administrative staff a 6.1% raise. (LINK)
  • Cave Creek Unified School District: Cave Creek Unified School District plans to give certified staff 10% raises along with 5% raises for classified staff and 3% raises for administrators. (LINK)
  • Creighton Elementary School District: Creighton Elementary School District plans to give teachers 12% raises and 8% raises to other certified employees, 6% raises to classified staff and 3.5% raises to administrators. (LINK)
  • Flowing Wells School District: Flowing Wells School District plans to provide certified staff with 10% raises in addition to 7% raises for all other employees. (LINK)
  • Gila Bend Unified School District: In Gila Bend Unified School District, teachers will see 9% pay increases with 7% raises going to support staff and 2% raises going to administrators. (LINK)
  • Gilbert Public Schools: Gilbert Public Schools plans to increase teacher pay by 9% in addition to providing 7% raises to support staff and 2% raises to administrators. (LINK)
  • Glendale Union High School District: Glendale Union High School District has proposed giving teachers 9% raises with 5% raises going to other professionals, support staff and administrators. (LINK)
  • Higley Unified School District: Higley Unified School District has proposed 11% raises for teachers, 10% raises for counselors and instructional coaches, 5% raises for classified staff and 4% raises for administrators. (LINK)
  • Kingman Unified School District: Kingman Unified School District plans to provide teachers, counselors, instructional coaches and principals with 10% raises, administrators with 6% raises and classified staff with 4 to 6% raises. (LINK)  
  • Laveen Elementary School District: Laveen Elementary School District plans to raise teacher salaries from 10.6 to 12.8%. All staff will receive 1 to 3% raises as well. (LINK)
  • Paradise Valley Unified School District: Paradise Valley Unified School District plans to increase teacher pay by 12% along with 9% raises for support staff and 5% raises for administrators. (LINK)
  • Pendergast School District: Pendergast School District plans to give all certified and support staff between 8 and 13% raises based on their years of service. (LINK)
  • Peoria Unified School District: Peoria Unified School District plans to give 11.34% raises to teachers, 8.29% raises to certified non-classroom teachers, 5.25% raises to psychologists, 3.57% raises to classified staff and 3.2% raises to administrators. (LINK)
  • Queen Creek Unified School District: Queen Creek Unified School District plans to give certified teachers and support staff professionals 10% raises, classified staff 7% raises and administrators 6% raises. (LINK)
  • Saddle Mountain Unified School District: Saddle Mountain Unified School District plans to give teachers 11% raises in addition to 9.8% raises for classified staff and 8% raises for administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Scottsdale Unified School District: Scottsdale Unified School District plans to raise teacher salaries by 10% in addition to 4% raises for hourly employees and 1% raises for administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Somerton School District: Somerton School District plans to give teachers 11.5% raises along with 3% raises for all other staff. (LINK)
  • Tanque Verde Unified School District: Tanque Verde Unified School District plans to give teachers 10% raises as well as provide raises for support staff.(LINK)
  • Tempe Union High School District: Teachers in Tempe Union High School District will see raises between 10.03% and 19.56%. Tempe Union also plans to give 6% raises to administrative, instructional support and classified staff. (LINK)
  • Tolleson Elementary School District: Tolleson Elementary School District plans to give all teachers 11.5% raises along with 5% raises for classified and administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Tucson Unified School District: Tucson Unified School District plans to give teachers between 8 and 11% raises, with non-administrative staff also receiving raises. (LINK)
  • Arlington Elementary School District: Arlington Elementary School District approved an average 10% raise for their teachers along with a 9.5% average raise for hourly employees. (LINK)
  • Avondale Elementary School District: Avondale Elementary School District plans to give teachers in their district a 13.25% raise and a 7% raise for non-function staff. (LINK)
  • Casa Grande Elementary School District: Casa Grande Elementary School District plans to give a 10% raise to certified staff in addition to a 4% raise for classified staff and a 3% raise for administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Florence Unified School District: Florence Unified School District plans to give a 10% raise to all certified staff, a 9% raise to administrative staff, counselors and coaches and a 5% raise to support staff. (LINK)
  • Littleton Elementary School District: Littleton Elementary School District plans to give certified staff 10% raises along with 7.5% raises for classified staff and 4% raises for administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Mesa Public Schools: Mesa Public Schools approved a 10% raise for their certified staff and a 5% raise for classified and administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Sunnyside Unified School District: Sunnyside Unified School District approved 10% raises for their teachers, 7% average raises for classified staff and 3% raises for professional and administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Tolleson Union High School District: Tolleson Union School District approved 10% raises for teachers in their school district as well as 10% raises for all other staff. (LINK)
  • Union Elementary School District: Union Elementary School District plans to give their teachers a 10% raise in addition to 7-8% raises for all other staff. (LINK)
  • Altar Valley Elementary District: Altar Valley Elementary District approved a 10% raise for all of their teachers. (LINK)
  • Chandler Unified School District: Chandler Unified School District approved 10% raises for all certified staff in addition to 5% raises for support staff and 5% raises for administrative and exempt staff. (LINK)
  • Deer Valley Unified School District: Deer Valley Unified School District approved 12% raises for teachers, 10% raises for other certified staff, 7% for classified staff and 4% for administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Dysart Unified School District: Dysart Unified School District plans to provide teachers a 10% pay raise in addition to 5% raises for classified and administrative staff. (LINK)
  • Marana Unified School District: Marana Unified School District will give all teachers a 10% raise in addition to a 10% raise for support staff. (LINK)
  • Tempe Elementary School District: Tempe Elementary School District plans to provide 11% raises for teachers along with 5% raises for psychologists, health services, specialists and administrators and 2% raises for social workers, counselors and classified employees. (LINK)
  • Sahuarita Unified School District: Sahuarita Unified School District approved a 10% raise for all of their teachers. (LINK)
  • Vail School District: On May 15, Vail School District approved 10% raises for their teachers and voted to give all employees a minimum 4% raise. (LINK)
  • Washington Elementary School District: Washington Elementary School District has proposed a 15.5% teacher pay raise along with a 4.25% salary increase for support staff. (LINK)
