PHOENIX – “We have liftoff! As OSIRIS-REx begins its journey to the asteroid Bennu to bring back soil from its surface, I want to commend the University of Arizona for all the hard work, dedication and vision put into leading this mission.  Arizona’s universities are out of this world and this seven-year mission further exemplifies the cutting edge research and innovation occurring at them every day.

"I also want to thank Arizona State University for their contribution to this mission. The university built OSIRIS-REx’s Thermal Emission Spectrometer entirely on campus.”
