Mike Fox
Mike Fox grew up in an Arizona small business—literally. When he was eight years old his mother purchased the Mt. Graham Market in Safford, Arizona. Their family lived in the back rooms of the store. Mike began working the cash register when he was nine and took responsibility for the Sunday morning shift when he was twelve. Mike served on the board of directors for the market’s corporation from the time he was eighteen until the business was sold in 2003.
Currently, Mike is the managing partner of Fox Storage, LLC in Safford Arizona. He and his wife, Karen, also own a small mural painting business. Mike is also the Director of the Small Business Development Center at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Arizona. As the center director, Mike counsels local business owners and prospective business owners on a variety of issues vital to business survival and growth. Mike also serves as the professional development committee chair for Arizona Small Business Development Center Network
Mike earned an MS degree in Management from Northern Arizona University and is currently working on his doctoral thesis titled: Exploring Owner Perceptions of Business Counseling Efficacy in Arizona Small Businesses. He hopes to complete his doctoral studies by Fall 2009.
