Kristine Thomas
Kristine Thomas, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, joined Governor Napolitano’s Office of Equal Opportunity (GOEO) in August 2005. Her primary responsibility as Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator is to ensure that state employees receive fair treatment and compliance with state and federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination. These laws include the U. S. Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other equal opportunity statutes. Kristine also serves as a trained facilitative mediator.
Kristine is responsible for data analysis and reporting requirements of the State and Local Government Information Survey (EEO-4). She facilitates programs designed to enhance development of minority and women-owned business enterprises, and promotes programs that stimulate economic enrichment in low-income and minority communities.
Prior to her role at the Governor’s Office, Kristine worked with the Arizona Department of Commerce promoting revenue bond sales for the development of public infrastructure throughout rural Arizona, and also served as a liaison to the Visual Arts Industry. Kristine was born in Tuba City, Arizona, and graduated cum laude from Arizona State University, earning a Bachelors degree in Design.
